US Hedge Funds Just Sold Every AI Stock They Bought Since 2025

Goldman Sachs data shows hedge funds sold AI stocks for five straight days in October, undoing every AI purchase made since the start of 2025, while Morgan Stanley says funds have cut more than 8% of their total stock bets since June. Big tech stocks crashed last week and erased $2 trillion from the market, with memory chipmakers Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron and SanDisk losing more than $700 billion in under two weeks. Goldman said the unwind looks closer to its start than its end, and funds' AI holdings still rank in the top 17% of the past three years.
