Airbnb is working on an AI travel agent

Airbnb said in its Q3 2026 shareholder letter that it plans to roll out an AI agent in the first half of 2027 to help users plan and book travel. The company says the agent will use a custom "AI-native" interface that composes travel-specific elements like maps, photos, comparisons, calendars and itineraries in real time rather than relying on a traditional chatbot. Airbnb also said AI is "the best thing to ever happen to Airbnb" and has changed how it develops products and operates.
