AI photo editing: Build on the editors we have instead of replacing them

The author argues that AI photo editing often looks fake because current approaches rely either on fragile prompts or on AI rebuilding an editor from scratch each session, and proposes instead connecting AI assistants to established desktop editors like Photoshop or GIMP. Their project, Editmamei, lets the AI decide the edit while the editor applies it layer by layer with real masks and adjustments, producing a layered file that can be opened and changed. The desktop version is free, with source at github.com/editmamei/editmamei.
