Itch.io deletes terabytes of all the AI game and asset slop spam

Itch.io confirmed it has begun removing thousands of AI-generated games and assets, saying it "just deleted a couple terabytes of AI slop" as game pages doubled in two months while purchases and downloads did not. The storefront has extended AI disclosure requirements to tabletop games, books, comics and soundtracks, added generative AI disclosure filtering to more places including search results, and offers a "No AI" tag for filtering.
