Airbnb says it’s launching an AI travel agent in the first half of 2027

Airbnb announced in its Q3 shareholder letter that its AI travel agent will launch in the first half of 2027, using a travel-specific interface that composes components like maps, photos, comparisons, calendars, and itineraries in real time rather than relying on text-heavy chat. CEO Brian Chesky said general-purpose agents aren't suited to travel planning, and the agent will also help guests during trips with reservation changes, payment issues, refunds, rebooking, and 24-hour safety support. The news came alongside Q3 revenue growth of 19% to $4.87 billion, and Airbnb raised its 2026 revenue growth forecast to the high teens.
