AI e-nose and wearable device deliver programmable smells with 73% accuracy

Researchers at The Ohio State University developed an AI e-nose paired with a wearable scent-release system called Scentronic, which uses machine learning to classify odor data in real time. Trained on five food scents (coffee, beer, red wine, orange and chocolate cake), the system let participants identify individual odors about 73% of the time and paired scents about 71% of the time. The prototype was built in wristband and necklace versions, and the team's next steps include testing integration into watches and smart jewelry.
