Claude can now analyze your spending with its new Personal Finance tool

Anthropic announced that Claude is gaining a "Personal Finance" tool that lets users connect bank and credit card accounts through Plaid and ask questions about their finances, with read-only access that cannot move, manage, or invest money. The tool summarizes spending by category, flags potential issues like duplicate charges and unexpected fees, and explains financial concepts such as APR, and it is rolling out in beta this week to Pro, Max, and Ultra plan users in the U.S. Anthropic says conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train its models.
