Youngjin Kang's blog post argues that software narratives need rules robust enough to generate self-growing emergent behavior, but such rules risk seeming arbitrary unless they are goal-driven toward a "purpose of life." Because the chain of ultimate purposes never terminates, he proposes positing a supreme authority ("God" as a hypothetical system administrator) whose commands serve as axioms, and sketches a universal law of the form "IF God said X, THEN now X" as a seed of meaning.
