We Visited China’s Stargate in Inner Mongolia

SemiAnalysis reports on a September visit to Inner Mongolia's datacenter region, including Galaxy, an Envision-owned campus in Ulanqab planned for up to 800MW of IT capacity whose first 120MW phase was delivered within a year at a fifth of US costs. The report describes Envision's vertical integration—its own wind farms, a dedicated power line, an 800V DC solid-state transformer pilot, and a chiller-less cooling design—and compares Galaxy's scale to Stargate's Abilene campus. It also notes Inner Mongolia has lined up 25GW of announced datacenter projects.
