Apple Watch’s AI features for rewinding and recapping conversations begin beta testing

Apple has begun beta testing its AI-powered "Audio Intelligence" features for Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, initially for developers in the iOS 27.3 update, after announcing them at its September hardware event. The four opt-in features include sound recognition, Shazam-based song recognition, Live Rewind (which shows the last 15 seconds of speech as a text snippet when you double-press the digital crown), and Siri Recaps, which summarize conversations into short notes without saving raw audio or identifying speakers. Apple says processing relies on the S11 chip, the iPhone, and Private Cloud Compute, with snippets deleted after 30 seconds if unsaved and recaps deleted within seven days if not reviewed.
