Anthropic clamps down on Claude’s AI video game clones

Anthropic updated Claude Code's system prompt to stop the tool from recreating existing video games, while still allowing users to build original games, games in a genre, and games from their own designs and assets. Anthropic's Addy Osmani said the company added two sentences to the prompt on Opus 5.5 because using Claude to infringe IP violates its usage policy, and that it will keep iterating to strike the right balance. Anthropic was asked whether it has or will update other Claude system prompts as well.
