An open-source browser extension saves your Character.AI chats, characters, personas and memory boxes to a single local JSON file (plus optional plain text) in minutes, versus the official export's 3 to 4 weeks. It uses only activeTab and scripting permissions, reads without modifying anything, talks only to Character.AI with your signed-in session, and includes no analytics, servers or remote code. A free open-source viewer at amavie.ai/character-ai-export reads the file in your browser; the extension is MIT licensed and not affiliated with Character.AI.
